Mark Wedrat

Mark began his career with KPMG in 1991 and became a Chartered Accountant in 1994.

After working in several practices in Cairns, Mark founded Wedrat Chartered Accountants in April 1999. His goal was to establish a practice which provided quality advice in a personalised environment.

He became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2008 and is a Registered Tax Agent and Chartered tax adviser. Mark is the auditor for the firm’s self-managed superannuation clients.

Mark believes in providing  straightforward advice to assist clients to understand their business and structure and aid in decision making.

 

Natasha Ganley

Natasha has been a member of Wedrat Chartered Accountants since it’s inception in 1999.  A North Queensland local, Natasha joined the firm as an undergraduate, became a Chartered Accountant in 2004, and a partner of the firm in 2009.

In addition to being a Chartered Accountant, Natasha is also a CA SMSF Specialist, Registered Tax Agent and Chartered Tax Adviser.

Natasha is dedicated to the profession and her focus is on providing timely and accurate advice and service to clients.

 

Sharon Williams

Sharon was born and raised in Cairns and has 20 years experience in all aspects of accounting for business, taxation, GST and capital gains tax. She has an excellent knowledge of taxation of business and self-managed superannuation and she also works closely with businesses across a large range of industries.

She has a Bachelor of Business (Commerce), a Certificate of Business and is currently undertaking study with the Tax Institute for a Diploma of Australian Taxation Law.

Her focus is on maintaining client satisfaction and service.

 

Michelle (Shelley) Blake

Shelley has more than twenty years experience in the taxation field, including successfully operating her own accountancy practice at Smithfield, Queensland for over a decade. She came to Wedrat Chartered Accountants in May 2012 to gain further experience in the audit of self managed superannuation funds.

She specialises in providing accounting, audit and taxation services to taxpayers, including employees, subcontractors, investors and retirees and small business clients operating as sole traders, companies, trusts and partnerships.

She is a Registered Tax Agent, a Fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a Commissioner for Declarations (Queensland).

 

Cassandra Smyth

Cassandra joined Wedrat Chartered Accountants as an undergraduate in 2001. She provides accounting and taxation services to a range of clients including trusts, companies and individuals. She has established a speciality in the administration and taxation of self managed superannuation funds and specifically the accounting for people transitioning to retirement.

 

Jason Wedrat

Jason began work in 2005 as a graduate accountant after working for many years as a qualified Heavy Diesel Fitter in the mining environment. His trade background has helped him to develop an excellent rapport with our trade and subcontractor clientele. He understands their day to day work which helps him to provide specific advice to assist in the management of their business and the associated tax needs.

 

Beth White

Beth has experience in both commerce and public practice having worked with 2 of the Big 4 firms. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce in 2006 and became a Chartered Accountant in 2009. Having a keen interest in self managed superannuation funds and wanting to specialise in that field Beth became a CA SMSF Specialist in 2012. In addition to this, she is also a Chartered Tax Adviser and Justice of the Peace (Qualified). 

Beth’s focus is on providing timely and accurate advice and service to clients across all different industries and assisting with technical tax & superannuation queries.

 

Jessica Finlay-Peach

Jessica began work with Wedrat Chartered Accountants as an undergraduate accountant in 2002.  She completed a Bachelor of Commerce in 2004 and became a Chartered Accountant in 2010. She specialises in the taxation of companies, trusts and partnerships. She assists clients with all facets of their business and taxation needs. She also plays an integral part in the training and mentoring of our undergraduate and graduate staff.

 

Marian Webster

Marian joined Wedrat Chartered Accountants in 2010 after completing her Bachelor of Business degree. She is currently undertaking professional studies with the Chartered Accountants program. Marian assists with the accounting needs for various sized businesses and enjoys assisting small business with their taxation affairs.

 

Janelle Clyde-Smith

Janelle has worked in public practice since completing her Bachelor of Commerce in 2005. She has successfully undertaken further professional studies and became a Chartered Accountant in 2010.  Janelle began work at Wedrat Chartered Accountants in 2012, specialising in the taxation affairs of small to medium business clients.

 

Gerald Rigby

Gerald joined the practice in 2000 as a senior accountant after practicing in several successful practices in Cairns. He is a Chartered Accountant and Registered Company Auditor and brings years of business experience to the firm. Gerald undertakes the audit role within the firm for our business clients.

 

 

Kath Madder

Kath completed a Bachelor of Commerce in 1989 and became a Chartered Accountant in 1994. Over the years she worked with a number of other accounting practices in the Cairns region before commencing work with Wedrat Chartered Accountants in 2013. She successfully ran her own business for 11 years and has a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by small businesses. For this reason she is well placed to assist with all facets of the management and taxation of small business enterprises. She also has experience within the field of management accounting and has worked extensively in the private sector.

 

Sonja Williamson

Sonja began working in the accounting field in 1992 and has held various positions since that time. She graduated from James Cook University with a Bachelor of Commerce in 2002 and she specialises in the taxation of small to medium sized businesses.

 

Lisa Durigo

Lisa is a senior accountant who has been in public practice for over 10 years. Lisa obtained a Bachelor of Business from Charles Sturt University in 2007. She has worked in Wagga Wagga and Hobart and her focus is on small to medium sized entities.
